Urban Sketching at the National Portrait Gallery

We had a cold but lovely morning sketching with the group at the National Portrait Gallery. I sat outside and sketched the High Court. Once again I used both waterproof and not waterproof ink.

With this sketch I completed one side of the concertina sketchbook I made at the start of the year.
We went to the Urban Sketchers 2024 Asia Link held in Penang and had a ball. In our goodie bags we were given some generous sample sheets of Baohong Watercolour Paper in our goodies bag. We were given hot and cold press 300g samples so, I made 2 concertina sketchbooks.

This is the 300g cold press sample made into a concertina sketchbook.

So I would not forget the paper in the sketchbook, I removed the label from the packet and stuck it to the inside of the concertina sketchbook.
Do I like the paper? Yes I do and I have since purchased some more Baohong Watercolour Paper and I think it may become my regular sketching paper because the quality is good and price point is right. (I am not affiliated with Baohong Watercolour Paper)

It’s a fun sketchbook and I am enjoying the format. With still the other side of the sketchbook to use it was a very useful sample!
